Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. We have enjoyed a smooth opening of school and appreciate all of your assistance in getting our students back into their academic routines.
Throughout this school year, we will be continuing to address the areas of the No Child Left Behind Federal Act (NCLB) that was put in place to ensure that all students are making academic progress. This accountability includes all students. Everyone is included under the umbrella of academic accountability.
Despite the challenges and increased expectations, St Anthony School District is continuing to make great progress. Based on the school classifications established by The Texas Education Association last school year, St. Anthony's accountability rating, Met State Standards in Student Achievement, Student Progress, and Closing Performance Gaps with a Distinction Awarded in Reading/ELA.
Working together as partners in your child’s education, we will continue to focus on having high expectations and increasing academic achievement. As I have stated each year since I proudly walked through the doors to lead this amazing school – a school filled with a long tradition of academic excellence – we will continue to have rigorous expectations in EVERY classroom, for EVERY student, with NO excuses, and NO exceptions.
Creating a school where the community is comfortable and the students want to attend. We aim for St Anthony School District to be the hub of our community and we will continue to open our doors so that we may come together for one common reason – our kids! This is our seventh year as an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) School.
It truly takes an entire community effort to raise our young adults into productive citizens. We cannot educate children alone. The students must take responsibility for their actions, the staff must provide a rigorous academic system, and the families that we serve must support the school and the students in the journey towards EXCELLENCE.
We truly have a lot to be proud of at St Anthony School District! However, what we are most proud of are the kids – your children! They work hard to be the best students that they can be.
We are aiming to make their 2017-2018 school year - the BEST year of their lives.
