Ms. Meadows First Grade Class
What We Are Learning
Class 1B is getting adjusted to classroom rules and procedures. In first grade, students are building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math. We’ll be practicing decoding and comprehension in reading, learning to write complete sentences and stories, and exploring numbers, addition, and subtraction in math. In science, we’ll use experiments to learn about sound, weather, and plants. In social studies, we’ll explore communities and how people work together. Just as importantly, we’ll focus on kindness, teamwork, and becoming independent learners.” This week, our first graders are becoming experts at using number bonds in math!
Homework
Homework is given Monday-Through Friday each week. There are instructions with each homework lesson to help parents and students. It is turned in daily. Homework reinforces what the student has learned in class, helping them to practice and remember better.
Reminders :
*Breakfast – Please arrive early enough to eat breakfast. Breakfast closes at 7:30.
*Gym days are Wednesday and Thursday for the 1st 6 weeks. Please be sure to bring gym shoes on those days.
*Don’t forget to bring water bottles. There is no water fountain at the school.
