Janet Rhodes » Welcome

Pile of Books

Greetings Parents and Students,

Welcome back to another exciting school year! I am elated about the 2018-2019 year because it presents an opportunity for everyone to begin with positive purposeful goals in mind.  My name is Janet Rhodes, I have had the pleasure of teaching at St. Anthony for several years and I am eager to empower and uplift each student to meet their individual goals.

I am very passionate about the task I have been given teaching reading and writing, therefore I expect my students to develop a love for these skills as well. There are several paths which lead to success with reading and writing, they involve sustained reading, maintaining a grasp of vocabulary words within text, critical thinking skills and inquiry. We will explore our writing skills as well while manipulating figurative language with poetry and drama.

Still, during the school year we will also measure our growth and make adjustments along the way to make sure we meet our goals. Each student will be presented with opportunities to shine and develop leadership skills that will assist them when working cooperatively with their peers. Parents we will need your assistance this school year as well with ensuring that students are fulfilling their responsibilities in the classroom.

Thanks for your support,
